I recommend calling ahead for the item you're looking for. they are limited on the items they keep in stock. but staff was friendly and their rentals kept clean and maintained.
The staff and owner at Skiers Edge are extremely knowledgeable about the Both Skiing and Snowboarding, I have been skiing since I was about 8 and am now 28 I have served 10 yrs in The US Army and have not been in an environment to ski so until last year I hadnt been skiing in over 5 yrs, when I visited Skiers Edge for the first time they did not hassle me to buy anything did not rush my decission or my stay in the store I was new to WV and wanted to know about the skiing in the Area they answered all of my questions and helped me make the best decision for me. When myself and a few friends decided to take a trip to the MTN to ski we went to skiers edge to get the best gear and get fitted for skis I was in the marked to buy and my friends just wanted to know what they were talking about when we got to Snow shoe the crew at skiers edge not only made us feel at home but fit us properly and taught my friends the best techniques, when I was getting fitted for my boots even though I have been skiing for years I tried on the boots and my toes touched the front of the boot so I spoke up but I was reminded if you ski correctly and distribute your weight correctly the way the boot is meant to work then your feet would pull back and your toes would not touch which is very true, which is what every skier is taught from the first time they put on ski boots in a ski school. Once fitted for boots I was measured for skis that fit me personally and I have never had such an enjoyable time hittingthe slopes than on my own skis fit for me. I have never met a more friendly crew than the staff at Skiiers edge they are all very experienced Skiiers and Boarders all with 10 plus years experience, the owner has been all over the country and skiied near every terrain and conditions imagineable, and is willing to share his knowledge with the most novice person. The reason I continue to go to Skiers edge is for the personalized experience unlike the big stores who could care less about you or your safety as an Boarder or Skier, also the quality of gear sold at Skiers Edge is second to none within 200 miles they only carry the best outdoor/ski/boarder apparel equipment and accesories available. Skiers edge may seem expensive at first glance but after research you will find like I did that not only are they the cheapest in town but virtually anywhere because of these ridiculously reasonable prices I have actually been out of town at Snow shoe Mtn and needed something and waited to get back to buy from the Crew at Skiers Edge. Because of my job I dont know how l will be in this area but as long as I am here they will have my business, I would make a trip from out of town just to give my business to Jeff Mclain and the Boys at Skiers Edge. My family and friends both locally and all over the country have since been told about skiers edge and some have even made purchases from the shop in shock of the quality and the fairness of price that is offered at the one and only SKIERS EDGE SPORT SHOP Vienna WV
WARNING!!! This store and its owner Jeff Mclain will not stand behind any of the products they sell. I recently bought a pair of Atomic ski boots and told his sales associate at the time of purchase that the boots did not fit properly. The sales associate insisted the fit was correct and told me they would feel better once in a skiing posture. I was very skeptical because I know my own body better then anyone and told him the boot was to small. The sales associate insisted the fit was correct and told me to try them and if I had a problem to bring them back. it is no big surprise that I had a problem and was in much discomfort when I tried to ski in boots to small. When I returned the boots to the owner, Mr. Jeff Mclain he refused the return telling me the boots had been used. He refused to listen to anything his sales associate had said and further proceeded to call me a liar. He then measured my foot and told me the same thing his associate had said. The ski boot was the correct size for my foot. He didn't want to hear that the boot was too small and said it just needed a heel lift. After installing the heel lift I tried the boots on and they still didn't fit. Mr. Jeff Mclain then proceeded to tell me that the boots didn't fit because I didn't know how to ski. Really Mr. Mclain? I have been skiing for almost 30 years and know when a boot doesn't fit. This is when Mr. Mclain’s behavior became very odd. When I told him that I knew how to ski and that it’s simply a boot that didn't fit he challenged me to prove that I knew how to ski and thrust a ski poll in my face and told me to show him a proper poll plant. It is at this point that I give up and send fair warning to everyone about this man and the way he conducts business.
Best pro shop I've been to- ownership and staff go out of their way year after year for us- worth the drive!
